Mrs. Ruth Amy Hampton, 82, rural Danville, died Saturday, July 8, in the Golden Rule Nursing Home in Danville. She was a native of Randolph County, and the widow of Alva Hampton, who died July 18, 1977. She was a [birthright] member of the Danville Friends Church, the Mill Creek Home Economics Club and was active in the Hendricks County Farm Bureau. Services were held Tuesday, July 11, at Weaver Funeral Home in Danville, with the Rev James Taylor presiding. Burial followed in the Sugar Grove Cemetery, Guilford Township. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Wilson (Lura) Maxwell, Danville; one son, Lloyd Hampton, Marietta, Georgia; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
