Former Defiance County resident, Vivian Norma Jean Fullar, 80, Amherst, died Friday, March 12, 1999 at Amherst manor Nursing Home. She was born Jul 1, 1918, Jewell, the daughter of John and Clara (Bates) Hammon. she married William Fullar, who died in 1990. She received a business degree from the Indiana School of Business, was a member of the S.C.O.A., Old Stone United Methodist Church and Eastern Star. She was a volunteer at Amherst Office of Aging and Amherst Hospital.
Surviving are a son, William, Freeport, N.Y.: a daughter, Nancy Carlsen, Oakdale, Minn.; a brother, John Hammon, Defiance; and four grandchildren. Also preceding her in death was a sister, Mary Schroder.
Services will be at noon Monday in Hempel Funeral Home, Amherst, with Rev. Peter Kerlin officiating. Burial will be in Independence Cemetery. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p..m. Today. Preferred memorials are to the church.
