Mrs. Delois "Lois" Cook, age 83, of 179 Nightingale Dr. Columbus passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at her residence. Funeral services will be 11:00 am Monday, May 19, 2008 at Sconiers Funeral Home Chapel. The Rev. Tony R. Dickerson will officiate and burial will follow in Evergreen Memiory Gardens. Visitation will be today from noon until 4 pm, according to Sconiers Funeral Home, 836 5th Ave. Columbus. Mrs. Cook was born November 28, 1924 in Ellaville, GA, the daughter of Rev. H.B. and Bessie Cottle Hamilton, she was a school crossing in Columbus for many years and was a member of Pinehurst Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, James (Michelle) Cook Jr. of Atlanta, GA, Horace (Faye) Cook of Anderson, SC and Don (Denise) Cook of Midland, GA; three daughters, Francis (Hildred) Vann of Tacoma, WA, Mary McLamore and Tanya Prince, both of Columbus; a sister, Susie Minter of Columbus; two brothers, Matthew Hamilton of Windsor, CT and Willie (Beverly) King of Thomaston, GA; a brother-in-law, Albert Woodson of Columbus; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Hamilton of Buena Vista, GA; twenty three grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
