She graduated from Austin High School where she served as a member of the 'Red Jackets' girls' club. Sarah earned her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from the University of Texas where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi Sorority. Loyalty and devotion to her sorority continued the rest of her life as she served as an active alumna in Corpus Christi. In 1973 Sarah and Ed began their own company, Braswell Office Systems, located in downtown Corpus Christi. For years, Sarah was active in PTA organizations. An 'outdoors' girl, she loved to fish and would take every opportunity to 'slap together' peanut butter sandwiches, load up the girls and head to the beach to surf fish. A tenacious tennis player, herself, Sarah served as the mainstay, unfailing fan and supporter through her daughters' years of competitive tennis. She was an avid gardener, talented pianist, and expert seamstress. Ed and Sarah Braswell were founding members of Central Park Presbyterian Church in Corpus Christi which later became Grace Presbyterian Church. A long time member of the Corpus Christi Area Heritage Society, she enjoyed serving as an officer and a docent at the Centennial House. She loved to dance. She and Ed were founding members of 'Lamplighters' Dance Club in San Antonio and were members of 'Merryners' Dance Club in Corpus Christi.
