Charles Richard Hamilton, 82, of Austin died peacefully on December 9, 2006, surrounded by his loving family. Charles was born January 5, 1924 to Charlie and Pearl Hamilton.

After graduation from Austin High School, he joined the Army Air Corps and served as a waist gunner on a B-17 in World War II.

On September 3, 1948, Charles married Dorothy Wattinger at St. Martin's Lutheran Church in Austin.

For 34 years he was a printer for the Austin American-Statesman. After retiring in 1986, Charles enjoyed bowling, Senior Center activities, refinishing furniture, and traveling. He and Dorothy visited all 50 state capitals and many European countries, and they took seventeen cruises.

Charles is survived by his wife; three daughters, Karen Schultz and husband Dale, Linda Reynolds and husband Don, Lori Cooke and husband Bruce; and one son, Charles Randall Hamilton.

Grandchildren: Clint, Laura, Mark, Emily, Brandon, Travis, Grayson, Kathleen, and Randy, and a great-grandson, Colton.

Sisters: Mildred Walston, Maurine Zemanek, and Melba Lauderdale.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Lord of Life Lutheran Church or to your favorite charity.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday, December 11, at Weed
Corley-Fish Funeral Home.
