Clarence W. Hamilton was born October 22, 1951 in Lufkin, Texas. He attended school in Trinity and Cass County. Clarence enlisted with the United States Army in 1971 and
retired from the Armed Forces in 1993 as SFC E7. After his military retirement, Clarence went to work for Austin Lighting Products in 1994. In 2005, it was necessary for Clarence to stop working, after becoming disabled.
Clarence was a member of New Light Christian Center Church, Rev. Ed Reynolds, pastor. On the morning of March 23, 2006 the Angel of Silence came into the home of Clarence and Stephanie Hamilton, releasing Clarence's soul from this world, of sin, sorrow, and pain, to a place of eternal rest.
Mr. Hamilton is survived by his wife, Stephanie Hamilton, two stepsons, Kerry Williams and Van Barnett, III; one stepdaughter, Danielle Barnett; one brother, Leo Houston, Jr.; and six sisters, Joyce Collins, Anettia Royal, La Donnia Royal, Luveta Royal, Sadelia Royal, and Sally Royal.
Visitation was Friday, March 31, 2006 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home. Funeral services were on Friday, March 31, 2006 in the Memorial Chapel of Cook- Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, with Ed Reynolds officiating.
Honoring Clarence by serving as pallbearers were Leo Houston, Jr., Curtis Green, Charles Collins, Keith Franklin, James Divine, and Freddie James. [Published in the Austin American-Statesman on 3/29/2006.]
