Jewel Elizabeth Blackmore, 93, passed away on April 12, 2010 in Kemp, Texas. She was born in Coryell County, Texas on August 29, 1916.

Jewel, a longtime resident of Austin, Texas, was a loving wife and mother and member of Marshall Ford Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Green Hamilton and Elizabeth Cantwell Hamilton; her husbands, Earl Blackmore and Maxie Blackmore; daughters, Aline Brown and Elizabeth Gilmore; sisters, Rose Hare and Mary Galloway; and grandsons, Michael Moore and Clifford Blackmore.

She is survived by her son, Milton Blackmore and his wife Robbie, of Austin; daughter, Mary Rose Schlee of Kemp; eighteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Jewel will lie in state at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, North Lamar location, from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm on Thursday, April 15th. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, April 16, 2010 at Austin Memorial Park with Rev. Larry Schieffer officiating.
