Decon George G. Hamilton Sr., 77, a man of God, beloved and caring father passed away after a long and blessed life.
George was an executive chef and restaurant owner, working for over 60 years in the food service industry as a master chef throughout his career; George shared his talents by teaching the culinary arts to a large cadre of food service professionals. George was the co-owner of Hamilton's Hungry Lion Restaurant. Highlights of his award winning career includes executive and master chef positions at the Petroleum Club, Privateers County Club. Ship Ahoy on the Bay, Hilton Hotels; Corpus Christi/ Beaumont, Texas and Sheraton Hotels.
He is survived by his wife, Betty L. Williams Hamilton of Corpus Christi, Texas. One daughter: Georgalene Hamilton Robinson (Charles) of North Braddock, Pennsylvania. Two sons: George G. Hamilton, Jr. (Gloria) of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Barron Lee Hamilton, Beaumont,Texas Two stepsons: Senior Chief Anthony Linzie Hardeman (Connie) La Mesa, California. Nathan Sherman Gates of Corpus Christi, Texas: and one stepdaughter: Tanya Louise Hardeman of Dallas, Texas. Three sisters: Stella Hamilton McKnight of El Paso, Texas, Mrs. Thelma Elizabeth Hamilton Jones and Mrs. Janie Hamilton Davis, both of Corpus Christi, Texas. One brother Mr. Vernon Hamilton (Rosetta) of Pacific, California. Decon George G. Hamilton Sr. leaves a legacy of six (6) children, seventeen (17) grandchildren, eleven (11) great-grandchildren; a host of nephews, nieces, cousins; other relatives and friends whose lives he touched.
VISITATION held Jul 27 at Unity Chapel Funeral Home. FUNERAL SERVICES held Jul 28 at Calvary First Baptist Church, Corpus Christi, Texas. INTERMENT followed at Rosehill Cemetery.
