Abner Hamilton married Mary Clendenin on 17 October 1785 in Montgomery County, Virginia. [Worrell, Anne Lowry. A brief of wills and marriages in Montgomery and Fincastle counties, Virginia, 1773-1831, pg. 19] She died abt. 1811 in Barren County, KY and is likely buried next to Abner but no inscribed tombstone has been found. His U.S. Military Marker would have been erected years after his death. Their son, John Clendenin Hamilton, was falsely accused and convicted of murder, hanged and buried in the same cemetery several years earlier.
