Ms. Jewell J. Hinkle, 78, of Artemus, passed away Thursday afternoon, May 2, 2013 at the Oak Tree Hospital in Corbin. She was a daughter of the late Paskal and Verlie McKee Hamblin born on July 9, 1934 in Knox County.

Jewell was the former owner and operator of Hinkle Grocery at Artemus and was a member of the Artemus First Baptist Church. She enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her children, Cloyce Hinkle and wife, Judith, of Artemus, Curtis Hinkle of Cannon and Kenneth Hinkle and wife, Carla, of Corbin; six grandchildren, Kristen, Sarah, Aaron, Tristan, Kenzie and Gavin; among other loved ones and dear friends.

Her funeral service will be conducted in the chapel of the Knox Funeral Home Monday, May 6 at 1 P.M. with Rev. Larry Sowders officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Barbourville Cemetery.

Casket bearers will be Dee Hughes, Jack Ketcham, Fred Bruner, John Pickard, Bob Payne, Keith Wilburn, Glenn Collins, Brian Smith and Darris Broughton.
