Alfred R. Hamblin was born to Isabel (nee Terry) Milner. He married Minnie E. (Lynch) Matthews and she preceded him in death in 1915. He married Mary Ann (Northam) Warner on August 8, 1916 in Harris County, Texas. He was an attorney in Houston.
Alfred was from his mother Isabel's first marriage, but he took on the Hamblen name.
Judge Alfred R. Hamblen, lawyer; born March 16, 1877, at Houston, Texas, and was educated in the public schools of this city; studied law in offices and has maintained his own law offices the past twenty-three years. Has practiced in Houston fifteen years; three times elected by the Harris County Bar Association to act as Special County Judge, and was once elected Special District Judge of the Sixty-first Judicial District Court. Is a member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and of the Houston Turn Verein.
