Our whole community was made sad Monday over the death of Mrs. Chas. Schmidt, nee Miss Susie Halyard, which occurred at 11:30 Sunday night, after an illness of two weeks with pneumonia.
Born August 17, 1882, being 32 years, 6 months and 4 days of age. She leaves a husband and seven children, a mother, three sisters and one brother.
She was buried in the Halyard family cemetery, funeral services were conducted by Rev. Carr of Columbus assisted by the Beethoven Lodge No. 30, O. D. H. S. of Ellinger of which her husband is a member. A large concourse of sorrowing relatives and friends, many from Ellinger and Columbus, attending the funeral.
The deceased was dearly beloved by every one who knew her and will be sorely missed.
