Virginia Halyard Howard, 67, of Port St. Lucie, FL passed away on Saturday, July 7, 2007 at St. Lucie Medical Center, in Port St. Lucie, FL. She was born on August 11, 1939 in Bamberg, GA to Urius and Nettie Mae Halyard. Virginia was a resident of Port St. Lucie for 9 yrs. and a former resident of Stuart, FL for over 28 years.
She graduated from Miami Northwestern Senior High School in the Class of 1959. Virginia was a member of Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church in Stuart, FL.
She worked during her lifetime as a grocery store manager.
Ms. Howard was preceded in death by her parents, Urius and Nettie Mae Halyard, her husband, James Howard and a brother, Willie Halyard.
Survivors include: three daughters, Diana Howard of Miami, FL, Angela Springer-Getter of Port St. Lucie, FL and Rosa Holt (Charles) of Hobe Sound, FL; a sister, Glinner Stewart (Everett) of Miami, FL; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
