Mrs. Cassie Halverson, 64, died at 8 o'clock this morning at her home in Momence after an illness of 14 weeks. Funeral services will be conducted at her home Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock by the Rev. Rex Simms, pastor of the Momence Church of Good Shepherd. She is survived by a son, Cecil Duguay of Momence and three grandchildren: George, Leslie and Betty Jean. As Cassie Anna Day, she was born at Days' Ford, now the site of Helland Golf Course, near Aroma Park on March 28, 1870, the daughter of Ralph and Susan Rice Day. She grew to womanhood in Momence with the exception of a few years spent in the Black Hills of Colorado. On January 24, 1891, she married George Herman Duguay, who died August 18, 1898.
