Mrs. Nancy Jane Campbell, widow of the late Judge James Campbell, deceased, died at her home, Main Street, Clarion, Pa., on the 2nd day of February 1909 at 11 :00 p.m. While this death was not unexpected, yet it came as a shock to her friends.

Mrs. Campbell was born near Erie, Pa., on September 30, 1824. She was the daughter of Rev. John Keese Hallock and Mrs. Melissa Griffith Hallock. She was married in Clarion, May 11, 1847 to James Campbell, then a prominent member of the Clarion Bar. Eight children were the fruit of this marriage, three of whom died in infancy, and a daughter, Emily C. Jessop died at Kittanning, Pa., November 12, 1898.
Mrs. Campbell is survived by the following children: Mrs. T.J. Sherrard, Chambersburg, Pa.; R.D. Campbell, Esq., Clarion; John Keese Campbell, Limestone, Pa., and Mrs. Ross Reynolds of Kittanning.

Mrs. Campbell was a lifelong member of the M.B. church, Clarion, Pa., and was always devoted to every service connected therewith. Mrs. Campbell died from heart failure and old age after four weeks of sickness, resulting from heart trouble. Her husband James Campbell, known to all in the community, died at his home in Clarion, August 3, 1892.
The deceased was dearly beloved by all of her friends and was very active in her lifetime in every good work tending to benefit the community, both in the church and in the cause of temperance. Funeral services will be held at her late residence on Thursday, February 4, 1909 at 2 o'clock p.m. These services will be conducted by Revs. W.E Fleming, W.K. Crosby and B. F. Delo. The interment will be in Clarion cemetery.
