Emma was the daughter of Magdalena (Schanaberg) & John Schwab; wife of Oliver Blizzard Hallock; and mother of Samuel Jesse, Adella E., and Johney H. Hallock.

Emma loved to paint and would do so on anything, including oil cloth and wooden planks. We know of at least five or six of her paintings that still exist. She and her husband, Oliver Hallock, had three children, only the oldest one living to maturity. After her husband died, she married Christopher Hallenbeck, but they did not have any children together.

Obit - "Mrs. Emma Schwab Hallenbeck, widow of Christopher Hallenbeck, died at the home of her son, Samuel J. Hallock, in Pond Eddy at 6:15pm on Saturday, January 2, after a short illness. She was aged 73 years and 14 days.

Deceased was born in Kingston and was the daughter of John Schwab and Magdalena Schnaberg Schwab. The greater part of her life had been spent in Hillside, Mongaup, and Pond Eddy. She was twice married, her first husband being Oliver Hallock, and her second, Christopher Hallenbeck. Mrs. Hallenbeck was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church and was held in high esteem in the community of which she had so long been a resident.

The surviving relatives are one son, Samuel J. Hallock and eight grandchildren of Pond Eddy, and several nephews and nieces in different sections of the country.

The funeral will take place in the Pond Eddy M. E. Church at one o'clock on Wednesday afternoon where services will be conducted by the Rev. H. A. Sayers. Interment will be in the Van Tuyl Cemetery."
