Daughter of Timothy Andrew Barnes & Lydia Amelia Ives, married to Jean (Jake) Jacques Baptiste Hallaux on April 22, 1836 in Leavenworth, Leavenworth, KS; parents of Warren Andrew and Mary Catherine Hallaux.
Cemetery records indicate that Emeret Hallaux is buried with her husband near the Barnes Plot in the Greenwood Cemetery.

"Mrs. Emrett Hallaux, 80, Dies After Long Illness. – Mrs. Emrett Hallaux, 80, widow of the late Jacob Hallaux, died at the home of a son, Warren A. Hallaux, Nineteenth and Vilas streets, at four o'clock Saturday afternoon, following an illness of more than a year.
She was born near Hartford, Conn., August 5, 1856 and came to Kansas at an early age with her parents, who were custodians of the old Pilot Knob cemetery and later Greenwood cemetery. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Earl Mann; the son, Warren Hallaux, at whose home she died; three sisters, Mrs. Lillian Hawks, Rose Hill, Kas., Mrs. Daisy Rice, Kansas City, Mo., and Mrs. Rose White, of Tonganoxie, Kas; one brother, Oscar Barnes, Fourteenth and Limit streets, city; seven grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Sexton funeral chapel with the Rev. William Hart, pastor of the First Christian church, officiating. Interment will be in the family lot in Greenwood cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral chapel until the hour of services."
