Sally S. Hall married Ezra Baldwin Jun 11, 1829, age 17. She bore Ezra two children: Adeline M. and Ezra H. She died just 2 and one-half years after their marriage, likely due to complications from giving birth. (She died five days after Ezra was born.)
It is interesting to note that Ezra's father, Elijah Baldwin, also married a Sally Hall. The marriage of the older couple took place after the younger Sally Hall was born. Then, the two Sally Hall's who married Baldwins died within 8 months of each other and are buried next to each other in Dover Center Cemetery, Dover, VT, where no other Baldwins are buried. Conjecture is that the two Sally Halls could have been mother and daughter (from a previous marriage) and the younger marriage was between a step-brother and a step-sister. The two Sally Halls aso could have been older and younger cousins with the same name, or an aunt and a niece with the same name, or not related at all. Further research may one day give us the origins of these two ladies, who both gave birth to Baldwins.
