Ada's first husband, (Ada was married several times), Stephen Crawford was killed in freak accident. He fell off a trolley car and his own gun in his back pocket went off and shot him in the back.

She is buried in Bonaventure Cemetery in Savannah along with Lena Jackson Connell and Ethel Jackson, relationship to Ada unknown, and her ex daughter-in-laws' husband, Webster Wilson.
