James O. Hall, WW II Air Force veteran, of Burgess Road, died unexpectedly at the Veteran's Hospital in Albany, New York, Thursday afternoon. He was 51.
Born in Arlington, Nov. 29, 1920, he was the son of Orrin and Leora Bailey Hall and had recevied his education in Bennington schools.
Mr. Hall was employed by Green Mountain Race Track in Pownal until he was forced to retire because of ill health. He married the former Nancy Cornell in Bennington, June 26, 1944.
Mr. Hall was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles aerie 1861 of Bennington and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1332. He was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church.
Survivors besides his wife, are one son, Kenneth O. Hall of Bennington; two sisters, Mrs. Arthur (Harriet) Gureard and Mrs. Marie Wright, both of Bennington, four brothers, Orrin Hall of East Jamaica; Earl Hall, Floyd Hall of Bennington; and Robert Hall of Arlington, Massachusetts; nieces, nephews and cousins.
The military funeral will be held at Mahar & Son Funeral Home, Saturday at 2 p.m. Friends may call at the funeral home today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. If friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the Bennington Rescue Squad through the funeral home offices. Interment will take place in the family lot in Center Shaftsbury Cemetery.
