Margaret Mae "Magggie" (HALL) GOODMAN is my great aunt. Born in Huntington August 27, 1873, she was the first of twelve children of Jacob HALL(1849) and Wilhelmina "Minnie" ZILIUS(1853). Maggie's parents were German immigrants. She spent her childhood up to age 25 in Huntingdon. She spent the remainder of her life in Altoona. Margaret's nick name was "Maggie."
In October of 1898 she married Samuel A. Goodman. They had five children:
1. Jay E. (1899-1952)
2. Fay (1899-1900)
3. Alvin Edwin (abt 1903-1962)
4. Leona (abt 1905-____)
5. Wilda (abt 1909-____)
Margaret had a number of traumas in her life including the death of her 13 month old child Fay in 1900 just a few short years after Margaret was married. Ten years later, exactly 12 years after she married Samuel A. Goodman, he died in October of 1910.
I have posted photos of her in 1898 when she was about 25 years old and in 1952 when she was about 79 years old. The 1898 photo of her entire original family can be seen at her mother's memorial (follow the link above) and that photo was probably taken on Margaret's wedding day.
Her obituary states that she died in the Fitzgerald Nursing Home in Altoona after an extended illness. She was 89 years old.
