Harvey came to the Pierceville area in 1923 working his way fromWeyburn, Saskatschewan,Canada heading for California along with 2 other boys. He ended his travel by working for Standley Ranch near Charleston,Ks then he started working for Bennett construction who was building a road south of Pierceville and construction work also east of Dodge City. He quit Bennett construction and started helping farmers(Rundells) south of Pierceville.
He became a U.S. citizen on Feb. 24, 1931. He and Ida Estelle Bly married on July 29,1931 at Garden City,Ks. by Probate Judge Foster. They moved later to Hodgeman county where they had purchased 640 acres to farm and raise livestock especially angus cattle. He won several beef shows with his prize angus cattle.
Harvey had one son, Keith Leon and wife, Jean Loree(Baldwin-Eichman),one grandson, Bryan Keith Hall and two step granddaughters, Kim Loree Eichman and Debra Jean Eichman all of Dodge City,KS.
He is also survived by 2 brothers,Robert Oscar Hall of Weyburn,Sask.Canada and Edward Russel Hall of British Columbia,Can.and a sister, Lillian Hall of Weyburn,Sask.Canada.
He was preceded in death by his parents,William and Martha Hall, brothers,William Leonard and John Alfred
"Jack" Hall; sisters, Annie Mabel Rose and Mary Agnes Hall.
Services were held at Hulpieu-Swaim Funeral Home with Rev.John Worrell of Ingalls church officiating.
