EVELYN L. HALL
Evelyn L. Hall, age 84, of Kouts, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009.
A lifetime area resident, she was born September 15, 1925 in Kouts to Ferdinand, Sr. and Flora Ann (Montgomery) Redelman.
Evelyn graduated from Kouts High School and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kouts. She was an accomplished artist and sold over 1000 paintings which are displayed in 10 countries. She had participated in the Kouts Christmas Open House since its inception, and displayed her work in over 25 shows each year throughout Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana. In addition to her paintings, she was known for her expert needlework.
On December 27, 1943 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kouts she married Ray A. Hall, who survives, along with four children: Rick (Ginger) Hall of Tekonsha, MI, Cheryl Terry of Mitchell, IN, Mickey (Diane) Hall of Kouts, and Kevin (Gale) Hall of Three Rivers, MI; one brother, Paul Redelman of Michigan City; two sisters: Lucille Danielson of Plymouth and Rita Daumer of Munster; 13 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by four brothers: Edgar, James, Ferdinand (Bud) Jr., and Vincent Redelman; five sisters: Ruth Jessen, Judy Fenimore, Beulah Laubner, Violet Bailey, and Lila Dutton; and one great-granddaughter, Ella Hall.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kouts, the Rev. Thomas Tibbs officiating with burial to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Kosanke Funeral Home in Kouts.
