Ogden – Benny Hal passed away on March 6, 2011 at the George Wahlen Medical Center. B.W. was born May 8, 1923 in Quentin, Mississippi to Cassie Hall and Courney Bloulsas Hall. He married Willie Mae Shaw Feb. 16, 1948; she preceded him in death in 2002.
B.W. served in the Army during WWII. He served in England and landed in Normandy on the second day of the D-Day invasion. He served in North Africa and occupied Germany during his military career. He continued to serve his country for many years as a Jet Engine Mechanic at HAFB.
B.W. is survived by his granddaughters, Jaqueline Yonon Hall, Markel Hall, Gwen and Gail; 14 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife; 3 sons, Jackie Hall, Willie Henry, James Earl Henry and a daughter, Flora Mae Henry Kemp.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2011 at the New Zion Baptist Church, 2935 Lincoln Avenue where friends may call prior to the service from 10 – 11 a.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery
