Lorraine Danforth, 69, formerly of North Concord and Lyndonville and most recently of Walden, passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2014 with her children at her side. Her husband Willis 'Bill' Danforth had predeceased her on June 21, 2003.
Lorraine had made her home with her daughter and son-in-law since August of last year. She loved her flower gardens, her kitties, cooking, and especially being a Grammy and a Nana.
Two of her three children survive her; her oldest child Brian passed away on Nov. 3, 2011.
She is survived by her daughter Alicia Burnham and husband Sunday of Walden, her son Tracy Danforth of Lancaster, N.H.; daughter-in-law Karen Danforth of Lunenburg; six grandchildren: Megan and Miranda; Christopher and Jessica; Melissa and Sarah; great-grandchildren: Paytin, Lilian, Cassidy, Tanner, and Wyatt; Boe, Hunter, Jena, Emma, Raelyn, and Brock; three sisters: Kay Shores of Lyndonville, Gladys Fisher of Lyndonville, Elaine Nunn of Passumpsic; one brother Melvin Hale of Danville; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by 11 brothers and sisters.
Graveside services will be held on her birthday, Tuesday, May 6 at 3 p.m. at the Grove Cemetery in East St. Johnsbury. Anyone wishing to attend is welcome.
Lorraine was a breast cancer survivor. Memorial contributions, payable to 'American Cancer Society' and marked for the 'Caledonia County Relay for Life,' could be sent to American Cancer Society, 55 Day Lane, Williston VT 05495.
