YOUTH VICTIM OF UNUSUAL DISORDER
Suffering from a rare illness, George James (Jimmy) Hale, five and one-half year old son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hale, Wabash R.R. 4 died at the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis at 8:40 o'clock Sunday morning. Death was caused by infection of the cavernous sinus, infection of the meninges of the brain and thrombosis. The child had been ailing for several weeks and specialists both at Marion and Indianapolis hospitals cared for him. During treatment, a mastoid operation was performed and several blood transfusions given in an effort to retore the boy's health. Confined to the Marion hospital at first, he later was transferred to the Indianapolis institution and had been there two weeks at the time of his death.
The youngster, who was of kindergarten age, was born Nov. 1, 1935, the son of James and Helen Hale. Survivors include one sister Sally; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Hale, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. George Corder, all of this city.
He was a regular attendant at the First Evangelical Sunday school.
The body was returned to the Hoover Funeral home. The parents are staying in the Corder home, 165 Elm street, where the body was taken Monday afternoon. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 in the First Evangelical church with Rev. Elmer Smith officiating. #Burial will be in Falls cemetery.
