Abraham Haines and Mary Talkington Haines were married March 25, 1830 in Monongalia Co., (West) Virginia. They had 13 children as follows: Elsie Jane, David, Isaac, Sarah Anne, Elizabeth, Susanna, Jesse Talkington, William, Alexander, John Collins, Ellen, Silas and Abraham T. Haines. They are both buried in Concord Cemetery, Johns Twp., Appanoose Co., Iowa.
He died at the residence of his daughter Elizabeth (William) Minor) in Walnut Township, Appanoose County, Iowa on Monday Oct 14, 1872. Elder A. Haines aged 65 years was a native of West Virginia where he spent most of his life. He moved to Iowa in 1861. The last 40 years of his life he was a Baptist minister.
His obit was posted in the Centerville Citizen on October 19, 1872 page 3, column 3 located in Centerville, Appanoose County, Iowa, USA.
