Ada Dove Hail, 97, of Canyon died Wednesday, Sept. 1, 2010, in Amarillo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in First Baptist Church of Canyon with Jimmy Davis, Mrs. Hail's nephew, officiating. Burial and graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Rose Hill Cemetery in Merkel. Arrangements are by Brooks Funeral Directors.
Ada was born July 1, 1913, to William H. And Mary C. Kennedy in the family home established by her grandfather in 1888 in southwest Jones County. She enjoyed a long marriage to I.J. Hail, who preceded her in death in 1984. She was the daughter of a pioneer West Texas family.
She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Canyon, where she served for years as secretary/treasurer of Kings Daughters Sunday school class.
Survivors include a son, E. Jay Hail and wife Leslie of Canyon; two granddaughters, Meghan Hail of Hanford, Calif., and Kathryn Begeman and husband Heath of Eastland; and numerous nieces, nephews and wonderful friends.
The family suggests memorials be to Kings Daughters Sunday School class of First Baptist Church of Canyon, 1717 Fourth Ave., Canyon, TX 79015.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
