JOHN RICHARD HAIGHT
John Richard Haight, 64, of 655 N. Webster St., died Sunday, July 20, 1980, while in Minong, Wis. A lifelong resident of Naperville, he was born March 4, 1916, in Chicago.
Mr. Haight, a descendant of Bailey Hobson through his mother's side of the family, was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. John (Louise Royce) Haight Sr., whose home was immediately south of the DuPage river on South Washington street.
A graduate of Naperville High school and a veteran of World War II, he operated the Swap Shop on Ogden avenue, and another one in Minong.
In addition to his wife Eleanor, he is survived by four sons - John R. Jr. of Australia, William and Thomas of California, and Edwin of Naperville. He is also survived by four daughters - Jean Perry of Carpentersville, Karen Lak and Margaret Banks of California, and Edith Cotton of Washington state, two sisters - Mary Hughes of New Mexico, and Mildred Wolgast of Missouri, and numerous grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home tomorrow (Thursday) at 11 a.m. by the Rev. Richard Pistole, rector of St. John's Episcopal Church. Interment will be in Naperville cemetery.
Visitation is being held today (Wednesday) from 2 to 9 p.m. at the Beidelman-Kunsch Funeral Home.
