Found in The State 05 November 1989: Mrs. Dorothy Hagood LaMotte, widow of Frank LaMotte, of 815 Woodland Drive died Friday. Born in Charlotte, she was a daughter of the late Louis Reeve and Louise Johnson Hagood. She graduated from Winthrop College with honors in 1925 and taught in Charlotte and Marion schools. She was married to the late John Manning Cantey Jr. and Francis William LaMotte. She was a member of New Century Book Club and the Assembly and was a former member of the Junior League of Columbia. She was a member of Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, the Daughters of the Holy Cross and the pastoral care committee. Surviving are sons, Francis "Bill" LaMotte Jr. and John "Jack" Cantey, both of Columbia; a daughter, Mrs. Frank (Francis) Robinson II of Columbia; and a sister, Mrs. Norman M. Huckabee of Florence. Services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery.
