William Norwood Hagood 88, died Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Johnson City Medical Center, Johnson City, TN.

He was born in Cooper, Texas, son of Thomas and Ellen Hagood. They moved to Paris, Texas shortly after his birth. Bill attended Texas A&M until he joined the U.S. Army in the spring of 1943. Bill became a Radar Officer and served in the Pacific. After returning home, he graduated from A&M in Electrical Engineering. He then attended the School of Business of The University of Chicago, receiving a MBA in 1949.

After a time in Texas Instruments, Bill joined IBM in 1954 as a salesman in Dallas and Houston. Later, he became a manager in Product Planning, Product Forecasting and Business Planning in San Jose, New York, White Plains, Boulder and Tucson. He was a member of Phi Delta Theta and of the Foothills Forum.

He was active in St. Philips in the Hills Church in Tucson, serving as Treasurer, member of the Vestry, preservation and Endowment Board and committee member of the Renouf/Nelson Library of St. Philips.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth; his son, Paul and wife, Marjorie Woollacott; his daughter, Sharon and husband, Jim Amstutz; granddaughter, Elizabeth and grandson, Andrew. He is also survived by Ruth's daughter, Phyllis Sefeldt and sons, Frank McGuyer and Edmond McGuyer.

A Memorial Service will be held at Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Paris, TX on Saturday, October 13, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. Paris, Texas in the future. A Visitation will follow the Memorial Service. Burial will be private.
