Anna Barrow Hagin was born February 17, 1850, and died at her home in Elliott on Saturday, October 10, 1925, aged 75 years, 7 months and 22 days. Funeral services were held from the late home in Elliott Monday afternoon in charge of Rev. J. E. Barr, pastor of the United Brethren church of Elliott. Interment was in the Gibson City cemetery.
The deceased was married 47 years ago, her husband passing away in 1905. Two children survive - Mrs. Charles Harper and Mrs. Clifford Phillips, both of the Elliott neighborhood.
Mrs. Hagin was a fine example of Christian womanhood. She was loved and esteemed by the entire community. She was an active and faithful member of the United Brethren church of Elliott and attended services at this church until her health kept her from getting out. She had been a resident of Elliott for the last forty years.
Among those from out of town who attended the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. C.W. Wade, Miss Edith Wade, Mrs. George Nix, Mr. and Mrs. Guy Barrow, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Barrow, Mr. and Mrs. S. H. Preston and daughter, Miss Faye, H.J. Barrow and daughter, L.A. Barrow and Mrs. Belle La Fountain, all of Gibson City; Mrs. L.L. Hopkins of Springfield; Mrs. Frank Edmondson of Clinton; Mrs. Newman of Elgin.
