IVA MAY HAGEMANN RITES HELD; AREA RESIDENT 65 YEARS

Mrs. Iva May Hagemann, a resident of this area most of her life, passed away at about 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, at Sheridan Manor Nursing home here. She was 71 years of age and had been in failing health for some time.

Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 12, at the Holyoke Baptist church, with Pastor Reuben G. Johnson of the Seventh-Day Adventist church officiating. Interment was at Holyoke Memorial Park. The Lewis Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

As Iva May Hiatt, a daughter of William and Elizabeth Hiatt, Mrs. Hagemann was born April 8, 1894, in York County, Nebraska. In 1901, at the age of 7 years, she moved to Sedgwick County, Colorado with her parents and they settled on a homestead 12 miles south of Ovid.

On October 2, 1912, she was united in marriage to Henry Hagemann at Julesburg. They homesteaded 12½ miles northwest of Holyoke. To this union seven children were born, all of whom survive.

In 1937, the Hagemann family moved to a farm 4½ miles north of Holyoke, residing there until 1944. Mr. and Mrs. Hagemann then retired and moved to Holyoke. Mr. Hagemann passed away on February 15, 1957.

Mrs. Hagemann was baptized on September 14, 1957, in the Seventh-Day Adventist church and was a faithful member of that church.

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Viola Balz, Gurley, Nebraska; six sons, Alphius E., Aurora, Richard L., Padroni, Millard C., Holyoke, Glenn L., Joes, Morse E., Fort Collins and Gaylord M., Vernon; three sisters Miss Edna Hiatt, who resides at Sheridan Manor in Holyoke, Mrs. Maud Quintal, Denver, and Miss Grace Hiatt, Julesburg; and 13 grandchildren, one great granddaughter, and many other relatives and friends.
