Ruby Chowning Patton, 96, of Ellettsville, passed away on September 9, 2009, at Richland-Bean Blossom Health Care. She was born on August 24, 1913, in Summershade, Kentucky, to the late James and Roxie (Jones) Hagan.
Ruby was a devout member of the Highland Village Church of Christ and her faith sustained her throughout her life. She worked at RCA during WWII and she was a homemaker. She was a wonderful mother to Linda Patton of Ellettsville and in her later years she was a full time Mamaw to Tucker and Tanner Gragg.
She joins her loving husband, Forrest H. Patton. She and Forrest were married Feb. 6, 1945 in Monroe County, IN. Her family enjoyed a lifetime of closeness and she was also preceded in death by sisters, Mabel Linthicum, Maggie Hoover, Electa Rasner, Ercie McKinley, Bertha Pedigo, brothers, Obie Hagan, Walter Hagan, James Hagan, Cecil Hagan, and Otha Hagan. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and their families that cared for her.
During the 9 years that she resided at Richland-Bean Blossom Health Care Center, she was faithfully attended to by many dedicated caregivers.
Graveside services will be held Friday 11 a.m. at the Valhalla Memory Gardens Mausoleum, with Brother Bob Fenton officiating.
