Nedra A. Snyder
Nedra Ann Hackett Snyder, 66, passed away Monday morning, July 23, 2007, after a courageous battle with breast cancer.
She was born June 19, 1941, in Vienna, to the late Frank Hackett and Mary Elizabeth Hackett of Vienna. Nedra shared time between homes at Land Harbor in Linville, N.C., and Sun City Center, Fla., with her husband, Donald H. Snyder.
In addition to her mother and husband, she is survived by her sons, Mitch Stukey and wife, Renee, of Evansville, Ind., and Dave Stukey and wife, Bonne, of Charlotte, N.C.; daughter, Anne Stukey of Atlanta; grandchildren, Alex and Ashley Stukey of Evansville, Ind., and Nick and Buck Stukey of Charlotte; sisters, Wilma Timmons and husband, Walter, of Orange City, Fla., and Myrna Stephens and husband, Don, of Sun City Center, Fla.; brother, Jim Hackett of Parkersburg; a special "adopted" daughter, Kathy Thompson-Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; and granddog, Betty Gable.
Nedra loved tennis, art, St. Patrick's Day and her wonderful friends. Most of all, she loved and cherished her children, grandchildren and family. She was a devoted mother and friend with a wonderful sense of humor and magnetic personality. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Crossnore Presbyterian Church in Crossnore, N.C. Visitation will be 10 a.m. prior to the service at the church. On Saturday, visitation and viewing will be from 1-2 p.m. at Lambert-Tatman Funeral Home, 3005 Grand Central Ave., Vienna, with a graveside service following at Evergreen North Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made in Nedra's honor to The Paget Foundation, 120 Wall Street, Suite 1602, New York, NY 10005-4001.
