Donald D. Hacker, 51, of Lower Paxton Township, died Tuesday, October 29, 2002 at SCCI Hospital, following a valiant battle with ALS.
He was born December 7, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa, son of the late Louie and Doris Wallace Hacker.
He was a graduate of the University of Iowa and did graduate work at Penn State.
Don had worked for the former AMP Inc., Harrisburg for over 20 years and retired as the Director of Global Logistics Systems. Through his job, he traveled extensively and spent 5 years with AMP's Asia Pacific Region while living in Singapore and Japan with his family.
He was a member of Colonial Park United Methodist Church and was the Past President of the Local Chapter of the American Production and Inventory Control Society. In addition to the trips he made for work, he enjoyed traveling worldwide with his family.
Surviving are his beloved wife of 26 years, Elizabeth "Libby" (Chesnutt) Hacker; his sons, both of whom he was very proud, Adam S., a junior at Dickinson College and Christopher M., a senior at Circle School, Harrisburg and a student at HACC; and his two sisters, Becky Hacker- Kluver of Webster City, Iowa and Mary Nordtvedt of Cottage Grove, Minnesota.
