Barbara Jean (Royer) Hacker, 63 years old, of Lititz, entered into rest Wednesday, July 29, 2009 after a long illness. She was the daughter of the late Henry B. and Mabel Royer. She was the wife of the late John F. Hacker Jr., who died in 1989. Mrs. Hacker graduated from Manheim Central HS. She received her certification as an LPN from the Lancaster County Area Vocational Technical School in 1973.
Mom's passions were: her dog, Mollie; carousel horses; crocheting; crossword puzzles; her grandchildren and family; and watching Jeopardy.
Surviving are: four children, John F. Hacker Jr. of Lancaster, Ayre L. married to Paul Golden of Shippensburg, Ashley L. Hacker of Lititz, Quinn B. Hacker of Lititz; six grandchildren, Courtney Fulkrod, Manheim, Riley and Skylar Groff, Lititz, Paul Jr., Jaden and Todd Golden, all of Shippensburg. She also leaves behind her best friend, Mary Anne Haser of Lititz. She was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Royer.
Friends will be received 10-11 a.m., Monday, August 3, at the Furman Home for Funerals, 59 W. Main St., Leola. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. at Furman's. Interment will follow in Brownstown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are welcomed to Make-a-Wish Foundation, 1054 New Holland Ave., Lancaster, PA 17601.
