APPOLD, KAREN LYDIA (HACKER) Bay City, Michigan Mrs. Appold passed away Friday evening, April 13, 2012 at Brian's House. Age 73 years.

The daughter of the late Samuel and Lydia (Herbolsheimer) Hacker was born February 4, 1939 in Kawkawlin, MI. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust, the Ladies Aid, sang in the choir and did volunteer work for the church and school. She enjoyed gardening, making crafts, sewing, quilting, making cakes, enjoyed attending her grandkids sporting events and volunteered at the Economy Center.

She is survived by her husband; Herbert H. Appold whom she married July 26, 1958. Also surviving are her children; Tamara L. (Paul) Jaskiewicz, Dennis H. (Teri) Appold, Randall S. (Sherri) Appold and Daryl J. (Lori) Appold, her grandchildren; Jeffrey and Justin Jones, Tyler, Travis and Chad Jaskiewicz, Shay and Evan Appold, Bree and Corey King, Sarah and Joshua Appold, Matthew and Alex Appold, nine great grandchildren, two brothers and one sister; Samuel (Carol) Hacker, Sandra (Charles) Behmlander and Jim (Gerry) Hacker. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her step father; Delbert Snyder, her father-in-law and mother-in-law; Christian and Helen Appold, step-mother-in-law; Laura Taglauer.

The family would like to extend a special Thank you to the staff of Brian's House for the kind and compassionate care our loved one received during her time of need.

Funeral Services will take place Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at St. Paul Lutheran Church of Frankenlust. Officiating will be Rev. Paul D. Theiss with interment following in the Church Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Gephart Funeral Home, Inc. on Monday from 2:00 to 9:00 p.m. Mrs. Appold will be taken to the church on Tuesday to lie in state from 1:00 p.m. until the time of services.

Memorial Cards for St. Paul Lutheran Church Tape Ministry, St. Paul Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, Brian's House or the Donor's Favorite Charity will be available at the funeral home and at the church.
