Mrs. Ernst Buending, 72, of 212 Bluff St., died at 10:20 a.m. Sunday in the Fort Atkinson Hospital following a week's illness.
The former Anna Hackbarth was born Sept. 4, 1882 in the Town of Cold Spring, the daughter of August and Ulrika Hackbarth. She was married Oct. 22, 1902 to Ernst Buending. He died in 1952. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church and its Ladies Aid.
Surviving are two sons, Norman, of Chicago, and Clarence, of Hastings, Minn.; a daughter, Miss Mildred Buending, at home; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and a brother, William Hackbarth, Fort Atkinson.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in St. Paul's Lutheran Church, the Rev. Henry Gieschen officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call at the Nitardy Funeral Home Tuesday afternoon and evening and at the church after 11 a.m. Wednesday.
