Mrs. Helen L. Haberman, prominent young valley resident, died at the Ellensburg General Hospital last night from pulmonary embolism. Mrs. Haberman had been under treatment at the hospital for an infection. She had recovered sufficiently to return to her home and was being taken there when the embolism, or blood clot, developed. She was rushed back to the hospital, but died within a short time.
Active in community and club work for a number of years. Mrs. Haberman was widely known throughout the valley. She had resided here virtually all her life and graduated from Ellensburg High School, the Central Washington College, and Washington State College.
She was born in Ottumwa, Iowa, February 20, 1906. Her family moved to Tacoma and came here in 1910.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Haberman of Route 2, Ellensburg; her mother, Mrs. Clara Hartman of Ellensburg; a sister, Mrs. Andy Gustafson of Ellensburg, and three brothers, Harry and Clarence Hartman of Ellensburg and Charles Hartman of Seattle.
Funeral services will be Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Honeycutt Chapel. A prayer service will be held Friday evening at 7:30 o'clock at the Lourdes Academy.
