Louis Andrew Hussell Sr.

POINT PLEASANT - Louis Andrew Hussell Sr., 69, of Point Pleasant died Sept. 9, 1999, in Holzer Medical Center, Gallipolis, Ohio, after a short illness.

He was owner and president of Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, Point Pleasant, and a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the states of West Virginia and Ohio for more than 50 years. He was a graduate of Point Pleasant High School and the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science.

He was an ordained minister with the Independent Gospel Messengers, preached at various Mason County churches, and was a member of Heights United Methodist Church, Point Pleasant.

He was a member of the West Virginia, Southwestern West Virginia, and national funeral directors associations, Associated Funeral Directors International, Odd Fellows Lodge 33, Point Pleasant, Kiwanis, Point Pleasant, National Federation of Independent Business and Point Pleasant High School Alumni Association.

Surviving: daughter, Lu Ann Hussell of Point Pleasant; son, Louis A. "Andy" of Point Pleasant; father, Andrew J. "Andy" Hussell of Point Pleasant; sister, Ruth Y. Hussell of Point Pleasant; brothers, M. Boone of Prairie Grove, Ark., Edward J. "Ed" and Warren K., both of Point Pleasant; two grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Crow-Hussell Funeral Home with the Rev. Ben Stevens and the Rev. Herman H. Jordan officiating. Burial will be in Kirkland Memorial Gardens, near Point Pleasant. Friends may call from 2 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Heights United Methodist Church Scholarship Fund, 2016 N. Main St., Point Pleasant, WV 25550, Point Pleasant High School Alumni Association, 119 Park Drive, Point Pleasant, WV 25550, or the West Virginia Funeral Directors Association Scholarship Fund, 179 Summers St., Suite 305, Charleston, WV 25301.
