W. B. Holloway Expires Suddenly in California.
Death Occurred in Santa Barbara and Remains Will Be Brought Here.
Information has reached this city announcing the death of W. B. Holloway, which occurred at Santa Barbara, Cal., on Monday, January 1, where he had gone hoping to be benefited in health. No particulars regarding the cause of death could be ascertained. He was aged about 44 years.
W. Beecher Holloway was a resident of this city for a number of years and represented the Rochester Brewing company in Lock Haven and later moved to Williamsport. From the latter place he went to Boston and continued to look after the large interest of this company in that section.
He was a man of wonderful energy and business ability and amassed a considerable fortune in a brief period. Some years ago he organized the Harvard Brewing company, whose modern plant was located near Boston and that company soon did a large volume of business. Mr. Holloway was one of the promoters of the company that manufactured the celebrated Gillette safety razors that are sold all over the world.
In this section he had some business interest and was president of the Castanea Brick company, which was organized several years ago.
He is survived by his wife, who prior to her marriage was Kathleene S. Chatham, daughter of John Chatham, and two daughters. Deceased is a nephew of Dr. L. M. Holloway, of Salona and C. M. Holloway, of this city. The remains will be brought to Lock Haven for interment, but the exact time cannot yet be ascertained. His wife and children were with him when the end came, but Mrs. Holloway is in such a physical condition at present that the attending physician advised her not to undertake the journey.

Resolutions of Respect.
At a meeting of the Castanea Brick and Tile company, of this city, the following resolutions were passed on the death of W. B. Holloway, late president of the company.
Whereas, Almighty God in His all-wise providence, has deemed fit to removed from our midst our honored president, W. B. Holloway, who was instrumental in organizing our company, and
Whereas, W. B. Holloway was a man of wife acquaintance and large business acumen, capable of successfully putting into execution his ideas, his achievements placing him among the leading business men of the land, therefore be it
Resolved, That this company has lost one of its most influential members and his acquaintance a true friend, who was ever ready to lend advice, and if need be, substantial assistance.
That the removal of such a life leaves a vacancy that will be deeply felt, and the kindly deeds and philanthropic acts will stand as a greater monument to his memory than can be erected to mark his last resting place.
That our sincere sympathy be extended to the bereaved wife and daughters.
That a copy of this simple testimony of our esteem of this friend and co-worker be spread upon the minutes of this company and an engrossed copy be presented to his sorrowing widow.
Committee – H. A. Leinbach, L. M. Holloway.
