Mrs. Lucy Allin died at her home on College street about ten o'clock Monday morning after a lingering illness of fifteen weeks. She was the widow of the late Bush W. Allin and a woman much beloved by everyone. She was a devoted member of the Christian Church, and her quiet, womanly life, full of love and devotion, was given to her family and her close friends with all the generosity of an unselfish nature. She had been in failing health for more than a year, but almost the whole of the last four months of her life was one of patient suffering. She leaves twelve children, Messrs. Jouett and Jack Allin, now residing in Texas; Mr. James Allin, Tennessee; Mr. Poteet Allin, San Francisco; Mr. Ed. Allin, Cincinnati; Messrs. Bush, Casey and Tom Allin, Misses Susan and Annie Keith Allin, of this place; Mrs. Jennie Osborne, Woodford County, and Mrs. Fred Karhl, of Ohio. All the family except two, who were unable to leave were here to attend their mother's funeral. The services were held Wednesday at 2 o'clock at the Christian Church, conducted by Elder W. H. Smith and the interment was in Spring Hill cemetery. Her sons were pall bearers, Messrs. B. W., Jouett, Casey, James, Ed and Tom Allin. During the funeral Circuit Court adjourned out of respect to its clerk, Mr. B. Casey Allin, and the Mercer National Bank was closed all day Wednesday in deference to Cashier Bush Allin.
