She was born Nov. 13, 1924 in Blain to the late Verne and Grace (Peck) Gutshall.
She had been a seamstress at the Blain Dress Factory and was a former employee of the Blain Hotel; a member of Blain United Methodist Church and Blain Fire Company and Blain Ambulance Club ladies auxiliaries; and enjoyed travel, camping, gardening and ceramics.
Surviving are her husband, Harold E. Bender; two daughters, Beverly A. Adair of Blain and Barb K. Nipple of Ickesburg; three brothers, Clyde, Lewis and John Gutshall, and a sister, Rosalie Gutshall, all of Blain; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Services were held April 5 in Nickel Funeral Home, Loysville, with the Rev. John S. Kipp officiating. Burial was in Blain Cemetery.
