Mr. Gusewelle, a retired farmer, was born June 12, 1892, in Pin Oak Township, a son of the late Edward and Anna Engeling Gusewelle.
He was married to Wilma B. Begemann in the Immanuel Methodist Church on Dec. 28, 1916. She preceded him in death May 20, 1968.
Mr. Gusewelle is survived by a son, Merlin G. Gusewelle of Route 4, Edwardsville, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son Joseph Gusewelle on Oct. 20, 1950, and by a brother, Walter Gusewelle.
Mr. Gusewelle was a member of Immanuel United Methodist Church, Edwardsville.
Friends may call at Weber Funeral Home after 4 p.m. Friday. Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home, with Rev. Ralph Totten, pastor of United Methodist Church, officiating.
