Lavina E. (Gunther) Alberghini, age 103, died March 28, 2012, at the Golden Living Center of Plymouth. She was the devoted wife of the late Alden R. Alberghini. Born in Plymouth, Aug. 3, 1908, she was a daughter of the late Emil H. and Elizabeth (Hammer) Gunther. Lavina was educated in the Plymouth School System and was a lifelong Plymouth resident. She had worked part-time for several years for Ocean Spray Cranberry Company as a screener. She was a member of AARP and the Plymouth Garden Club. She enjoyed painting, drawing, and working on crafts. She was especially talented with her rug braiding. Mrs. Alberghini was the loving mother of Ann E. Gavoni of Kingston, and the late Robert A. Alberghini of Carver. She was the cherished grandmother of four and great-grandmother of four. She was also predeceased by her sister, Elizabeth Kent of Illinois. A private graveside service will take place Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at the Vine Hills Cemetery, Plymouth.
