Frances Marie Gunter, daughter of Paul Arthur Pettit and Doris Abby (Gray) Pettit was born Tuesday, February 4, 1936 in Osceola, Iowa and passed from this life Friday, December 17, 2010 at her home in Van Wert, Iowa at 74 years of age.
Marie received her education in Osceola and graduated from Osceola High School in 1954.
She was united in marriage to Eugene Colon Gunter on March 31, 1979 at the Eagles Lodge in Osceola, Iowa and they were the parents of nine children.
Marie worked for many years in Osceola at Furnas Electric as a Line Coordinator. In later years, she worked at Casey's General Store until her health forced her retirement.
She was a member of Osceola Eagles Lodge Aerie #3495 in Osceola, Iowa. She loved to fish and enjoyed reading romance novels and taking long rides in the country. She also cherished spending time with her best friend Vicky, having fun at the casino. However, some of her greatest joys came from her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
