LOUISVILLE — Phyllis Darlene Perkins, 71, of Louisville died at 12:35 p.m. Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, at Deaconess Gateway, Newburgh, Ind.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at Neal Funeral Home, Louisville, with Tony Dyer officiating. Burial will be in Smith Cemetery, rural Clay City. Visitation will be for one hour prior to funeral services Thursday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family.

Phyllis was born April 3, 1940, in Olney, the daughter of Harvey and Alberta (Frank) Gumbel. She married Alfred Dyer. She later married John Schnautz.

Phyllis was the former owner and operator of The Courthouse Cafe in Louisville.

Survivors include her son, Tony (wife, Michelle) Dyer of Marion; daughters, Teresa Harper of Louisville, Beverly Marshall of St. Joseph, Mo., and Debbie DeRyke (husband, Dale) of Watson; brother, Harvey (wife, Martha) Gumbel Jr. of Kansas City, Kan.; sisters-in-law, Mary Ann Gumbel of Sailor Springs and Norma Jean Gumbel of Flora; nine grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robert Gumbel and Eugene Gumbel; and sister in infancy, Joeitta Gumbel.
