James attended Fayette County Schools and graduated in 1982. He was a four year Veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Germany and Korea before returning to Alabama and entering the School of Engineering at U of AL Huntsville graduating Suma cum Laud in his class. He was a senior Systems Design Electrical Engineer with Dynetics, Inc. of Huntsville, AL. Microcircuits designed by James are on display at the main Dynetics office facility in Huntsville. James was a member of the Fayette First United Methodist Church. He is the grandson of the late Marion Davis and George Harris and Ann Hoffman Gullett of Fayette.
Survivors include his parents, Jimmy and Sara Gullett, grandmother, Willinel Davis of Fayette; one sister, Ann Gullett (Dr. W. Keith) Martin, niece, Sara Caroline Martin of Boulder, Colorado, one uncle, George Harris (Johanna) Gullett, Jr. of Dallas, TX; first cousins, Harriet Davis of Huntington Beach, CA and Nancy Davis (Derek) Hayes of Lawrenceville, GA and many friends.
Pallbearers will be Derek Hayes, George Shepherd, Jim Barnes, Larry Humber, Joe McCrackin, and Bran Perry.
