| Birth: | May 18, 1964 Belle Amie Lafourche Parish Louisiana, USA | | Death: | May 14, 2012 Belle Amie St. Martin Parish Louisiana, USA | Reality TV Personality. Guist was born, raised, and lived his entire life in the same house his grandparents once occupied on Conway Bayou. Along with his brother, Glenn, he was a backwoods hunter, trapper and fisherman. His experience wrangling and catching alligators made him an unlikely reality televison star of The History Channel's, "Swamp People", which documented swamp life across miles of inhospitable bayous, marshes and wetlands. Guist died after collapsing on his boat of an apparent seizure while navigating Louisiana's Belle River. God grant that I may live to fish Until my dying day And when it comes to my last cast I then most humbly pray When in the Lord's safe landing net I'm peacefully asleep That in his mercy I be judged As good enough to keep. -
